Lies of Poets explores the playful and insightful narratives of Greek and Roman mythology, drawing inspiration from C.S. Lewis's retelling of Psyche's myth in Till We Have Faces.

Through a series of portraits, I embrace self-imposed limitations to immerse myself in the painting process. The characters of my portraits reveal themselves at their own pace. Each portrait begins with a single sculptural source material, and as I work, I transition through a variety of sources, eventually distancing myself from any specific reference, painting freely.

By blending color palettes that are simultaneously contemporary and archaic with familiar ancient imagery, I aim to create a dialogue between the past and present, inviting viewers to contemplate the cyclical nature of time through my own retelling.
